About the sessions
The sessions take place in my art room in Thame, a home garden studio, which is a calm and quiet place to cut out some time for creativity. There is some parking available on the drive but I am also only a few minutes walk away from the town centre carparks. Unfortunately I do not have adequate wheelchair access but please do contact me if you feel there may be some way I can accommodate.
The time is yours to create as you wish, you may have ideas of your own which I can support you with or I can set specific activities and projects to teach particular skills in your choice of medium. The sessions will always be tailored to the individual, whether a beginner or returning to art after some time away or even perhaps looking to deepen your own practice. The focus will be based around where your interests lie and not only on technical skills but also on building confidence and a personal connection to the work made. My approach is quiet and responsive, allowing space for exploration without pressure. In moments where you are in deep concentration, I will sometimes work on something of my own alongside you to remove that feeling of 'being watched'! I recommend 2 hour sessions for adults and older children to allow plenty of time to engage with your creativity.....and have a tea break. For younger children, or those who simply prefer it, I can offer 1 hour sessions.
Prices (per hour)
One to one art session: £40
Group art session: £20 per person
One to one ceramic glazing session plus kiln firings: £45
Group ceramic glazing session plus kiln firings: £25 per person
Save 10% when you book a half a term block of 6 sessions.
These prices include the use of tools and materials. Depending on what you wish to make, some projects will require multiple sessions. A glazing session will usually take place several weeks after a clay session to allow time for the project to dry and time to build up items for firing - a fully loaded kiln is more economical.
